Writing advice based on your Human Design perspective

Human Design combines elements from the I Ching, astrology, the Kabbalah, the chakra system and modern physics. It's a holistic self-knowledge system. But you don't have to be into Human Design to enjoy this post; it will be about writing, as always, not about Human Design itself. If you don't wish to generate your Human Design , there are two ways you can use this post: either read through the specific Perspectives and go with what your intuition tells you, or use them as an additional tool for creating characters.

Today we'll specifically focus on Human Design Perspectives - which are defined as: the way in which an individual experiences and interprets the world around them.

SURVIVAL

• guided by intuition and keen awareness, these individuals are highly alert to potential threats, showing great resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges, although they also occasionally experience unnecessary stress due to perceived dangers

• if you are out of alignment, you'll focus on others' needs instead of your own.

WRITING ADVICE:

→ practice mindfulness, being right here right now

meditate on writing - what is it about it you enjoy? Why do you write?

→ try out tapping - there's a bunch of videos about it on YouTube

→ check up on your well-being - are your needs met?

POSSIBILITY

• individuals with this perspective are often imaginative and innovative, constantly contemplating the vast array of possibilities that life has to offer, yet might sometimes struggle with idealism or indecision due to the overwhelming number of options

• if you are out of alignment, you will become preoccupied and stressed with knowing exactly how things will work out instead of allowing for multiple possibilities

WRITING ADVICE:

→ when you're writing a story, put extra energy into supporting yourself to keep writing, for example with rewards

→ not everything has to be planned from A to Z. It's okay if you allow for a little spontaneity

→ don't stick to one scenario you know is working - try out different things, too. Perhaps a different genre this time, or a main character different to what you're used to?

→ it doesn't have to be perfect, that's not the point in writing. Focus on here and now and don't overthink where exactly is the process going. It's going - that's the important part. Don't trap your mind in "should" or "have to"

POWER

• individuals with this perspective often strive for leadership, showing a strong desire to shape their surroundings. This can manifest as an urge for personal achievement, the ambition to lead others, or the necessity to control situations. On the flip side, it can sometimes lead to power and control struggles

• if you are out of alignment, instead of focusing on the external world you will be paying more attention to your internal one. You'll feel like you are living in a bubble looking outward, like you are separate from the world

WRITING ADVICE:

→ allow yourself to experience adventures. Perhaps a trip to a city you don't know yet, or a new local museum. Put yourself out there, observe life and its mechanisms, keep your eyes wide open. This will get you some new motivation and inspiration

practice acceptance. Learn to observe without judging, and take the same mindset into your writing

→ your work doesn't have to be perfect to deserve to exist, just like us, people. Let power be something you channel, not grasp

WANTING

• individuals with this perspective tend to constantly pursue what they want or feel they need, often proving to be highly motivated and goal-oriented. However, they might sometimes become overly focused on their desires, causing them to overlook other important aspects of life

• if you are out of alignment, instead of focusing on what the group needs to survive, you will be more focused on what YOU need to survive. This specific Perspective follows this rule: the well-being of the community equates to your own well-being

WRITING ADVICE

community and connection to others is very important to you. Don't shy away from sharing your work with your loved ones, ask for advice, reflect. At the same time try to balance your passion for writing with other aspects of your life

→ educate yourself on time managment

→ take the time to meet with people you love

→ mantra for you: wanting to write is a good enough reason to do it

PROBABILITY

• individuals with this perspective are often logical and analytical, considering the most likely outcomes based on the available information. While this allows for practical and efficient decision-making, it can also limit the individual’s openness to unexpected possibilities

• when out of alignment, instead of being focused on fixed outcomes you will instead have a more fluid view and consideration of all possibilities. It's not a bad thing, but this go-with-the-flow attitude is not how you’re meant to perceive the world

WRITING ADVICE:

→ don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone

→ try gentle movement like ecstatic dance or qigong to reconnect with your body. Let yourself feel - your emotions are not separate from you, they’re part of your full intelligence

→ when you’re stressed, write about what you already know for comfort

let go of needing to control every detail

PERSONAL

• individuals with this perspective focus on personal experiences and self-understanding, frequently reflecting on their actions, thoughts, and feelings. Good self-growth and self-improvement, it can sometimes lead to excessive self-focus

• when you are out of alignment, instead of being focused on your internal world, you focus on the people outside of you. This attention to record-keeping and comparing will alert you that you’re out of alignment

WRITING ADVICE

→ writing is not a game to win - it should be about your own personal satisfaction. Don't let someone's negative comments stop you from enjoying it

→ practice self-love, self-compassion and loving kindness

→ write from your own experiences - your writing flourishes the most when you do

→ it's okay if you keep your writing to yourself - you don't have to share it, if you don't want to
