CLAUDE MONET
An impressionist from XIX century France, and the first painter to ever grab me by my heart. His paintings are so beautiful, my mind can't help but imagine being IN them, running through the fields, gardens or seas. The way the paintings seem almost dreamy additionally highlight this feeling.
My favorite paintings of his are "Woman with a parasol" and "Poplars on the Epte".
JAKUB RÓŻALSKI
Polish graphic designer, painter, conceptualist and ilustrator. My absolutely favorite artist. I don't remember how I first found him, I just know I then forgot about him for a couple of years before the memory hit me like a brick, I searched him up, and admired him ever since.
I love how he mixes up fantasy with reality and how he plays with space in his art. I deeply enjoy his The Witcher illustrations, of course, but there's much more to his art that I love. I strongly recommend checking him out.
My favorite art of his is "True nature" and "In the middle of the storm", but it's terribly hard to choose, since everything is just gorgeous.
JONNA JINTON
Content creator, a beautiful forest fairy whose voice can lead you into parts of yourself you didn't know you had. Whether she records her daily routine, or the forest around her, or the flowing river, or she talks about how the weather has been changing... I could watch her videos without an end and it's always meditative.
MUSIC
And now, music. Overall, I'd say rock and metal inspire me the most, since they often let out feelings and frustrations I have a problem to describe with words.
There are certain special mentions I should note here:
• "Hunger of the pine" by Alt-j. I's magical. Undescribable.
• "Sarcasm" by Get Scared. A song that helps me write about human suffering and also process my own.
• Three days grace, my favorite rock band, also inspires me a lot. They're creating what my partner calls "emo rock", and I'm so here for it.
• "To ashes and blood" by Woodkid
• "Adiemus" by Karl Jenkins
• music from "Arcane"
• Eminem, mainly older songs
• "I see fire" by Ed Sheeran
...and honestly, so, so much more. Those are simply what came to my mind first.
Which artists inspire you?
