Merry Christmas, friends! Since it's finally this time of the year again, I've decided to share some ways in which a writer can celebrate Christmas in a creative way. Let's get into it!
1. Write a short one-shot story set in Christmas vibes! It's a perfect way to awake the Christmas spirit and reflect on what Christmas means to us.
2. Do something entertaining! If you've been having an intense time lately and feel tired, maybe it's better not to force yourself to write. Instead, take a step aside and enjoy your stories in different ways. You can search for aesthetic photos matching the story you're writing... Or take the 16personalities test for the main cast... There are limitless options to enjoy your writing hobby without necessarily writing!
3. Organize your writing and set goals for the upcoming year. Now is a perfect time to reflect on both your planned stories and stories in progress. Are you satisfied with your work? Is there anything you think you should work on?
What would you like to achieve in the next year? Finishing a book? Finally writing that one story you keep postponing? Maybe even publishing?
4. Learn new writing skills. Those days free of work can be an excellent time to progress as a writer. Do some research on your weaknesses and weak spots, listen to popular writers and read blogs such as this one.
5. Play a writing game with a friend in Christmas settings! Join your forces and describe how did the Christmas day go for your characters.
6. Christmas journal entry. Make your character write a journal entry about their Christmas time. Make them reflect on the past year and express their dreams and desires for the future.
7. Create your own Christmas traditions. If you could change anything about Christmas, what would it be? Or perhaps you'd like to remake it all from scratch? Your stories are a great place to try that out. Think about the food, decorations, legends, customs and traditions.
