Today's post is all about tonight's full moon. It's a harvest moon, but also taking your chances with the first supermoon of the year! The supermoon is the phenomenon whereby the moon appears particularly large in the sky owing to the coincidence of its closest approach to the earth (the perigee) with a full (or new) moon. This supermoon is full, which means its power is tenfold!
When the moon is full, it has its maximum power. So, if you're going to cast a spell, it's recommended to cast some of protection and divination. This phase of a full moon is a time for better understanding or grounding before any action is done. It's used to release unwanted influences from your life. This is a perfect time to remove any creative and art blockages if you're up for it.
This Harvest Moon is also in Aries. It signifies a vital time as it's pefect time to use this moon enegry as much as possible. It's best time to carry out some tasks that had remained stuck or you felt unmotivated for. Now, as per term itself "harvest moon" - this refers to the full, bright Moon that occurs closest to the start of autumn. The name dates from the time before electricity, when farmers relied on the Moon's light to harvest their crops late at night.
Ideas for Rituals
First, everything begins with the intention. Set your intention on creatie aspration, creative freedom, creative flow and removing creative blockages. I recommend setting your intentions under the moonlight, but if you can't step outside just opening the window should do the trick.
If you're into candle work, use green candles (with focus on abundance, healing), white candles (peace, protection) and most importantly, yellow candles (communication, creativity). As a side note, I've read how white candle can be a replacement for candle colour. If you have no candles, simply using a gif or imagining a burning candle will be enough. Call upon harvest moon and speak your creative desires out loud to the candles. You can recite affirmations or chants to enhance your intention!
If you're into scripting, visualising and writing, feel free to write in a journal. Write on your reflections, write out of your heart, write about your desires and wishes while thinking about the power of this harvest moon. Call upon the moonlight of the harvest moon in your journaling. Write down your creative ideas, goals, your achievements, encourage yourself, and try to be self-compassionate.
