My reasons for writing

I write, because...

1. It makes me learn new things. Want to write a story set in Australia? Go research Australia! Want to write someone stitching up their leg? Go research how it's done! I absolutely adore that part about writing.

2. It's a way I can share pieces of my inner world with others. I can take things from my head and write about them in a way that will be understood by others. I believe that someone who reads all of my works can tell a bit about what it is like inside my head.

3. It's a cool way of resting. It's something I don't need much energy to do, and it's perfect for my alone time. A story I create is a safe place for me, perfect for chilling and recharging.

4. It's something I'm somewhat good at. Whenever I feel down or not good enough, I remind myself there's a thing I'm good at. It's my biggest hobby. When I write, I feel confident and proud.

5. It's a way of creative expression. As a creative person who's clumsy and bad at making things by hands, writing is the perfect creative outlet for me. Whenever I crave to do something creative, there's always writing I can do.

6. It's a great way of self-reflecting. Very often I don't understand things going on in my head or situations I find myself in, but when I write about it, it often clears out and I can finally understand.

7. It's an escape from reality. As a big dreamer and a person who's always in their head thinking and planning, reality often becomes underwhelming or overwhelming. When it does, escaping into writing a story calms me down and makes me feel grounded again.

8. It's genuinely a type of entertainment for me. When I get bored I can entertain myself with writing. Finishing a chapter gives me a lot of dopamine!

9. It's another way I can connect with people I love. Whether writing together or discussing stories with other writers, I love bonding over this passion.

10. Writing gives me control over specific world I create and lives of my chosen characters. It can feel truly freeing and pleasant, especially since there's so much in real world we have zero control over.
