Forgetting characters?

Hello, friends!

Do you also have a golden fish memory and happen to forget you created a character XYZ who was never mentioned again?

Fear not, because I've been there, and today, I'll share a way to prevent it from happening again.

Let me introduce you to… the CHARACTER LOG!

Whenever a character appears in the chapter, note it in the character log. This won't be needed for the main characters who appear all of the time. Update the character log when they reappear. Notice which characters were left in the past and why. Thanks to that, you can see who should be brought back to action and who can be used instead of creating another character that will fall forgotten as well (see the cursed circle?).

Additionally to the character log you can also add a table for short descriptions of the characters, if you have trouble remembering what was the purpose of character X or character Y.

Together, those two tables will assure you won't create “ghost” characters thus avoiding a faux-pass.
